What we do
We provide phone and device repair services. You can book repairs online, receive a transparent quotation, choose a service plan, pay a deposit, and track your repair through your dashboard.
2. Eligibility and Your Account
Minimum age
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
Account security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account.
Accurate information
The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
3. Bookings, Quotations, and Plans
Quote-based pricing
Pricing is quote-based. After our technicians assess your device, we issue a quotation. The final price depends on your device, the fault, and the plan you choose.
Service plans
Your quotation sets out the repair cost and any pickup or delivery charges for each available plan: Walk In, Pick Up, Delivery, and Premium.
When work begins
No repair work begins until you have reviewed your quotation and confirmed a plan.
Turnaround times
Turnaround times are estimates and may vary with parts availability and the complexity of the repair.
4. Payments
How you pay
Payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Flutterwave, including mobile money.
Deposits and balances
Depending on your quotation, you may be asked to pay a deposit before work begins and the balance before your device is returned. Any specific deposit, balance, or refund terms that apply to your repair are stated in your quotation.
5. Your Responsibilities
Back up your data
Where possible, back up your device before handing it over. We are not responsible for loss of data that occurs during diagnosis or repair.
Ownership
You confirm that you own the device or are authorised to request its repair.
Access details
Provide any access details, such as a passcode, that we need to test and complete the repair.
Collection
Collect, or be available to receive, your device within a reasonable time after the repair is completed.
6. Repairs and Warranty
Our workmanship
We carry out repairs with reasonable skill and care using suitable parts.
Additional faults identified during repair
During the repair process, we may discover additional faults that were not apparent during the initial assessment. If this occurs, we will contact you with an explanation of the issue and provide an updated quotation before carrying out any further work. No additional repairs or charges will be made without your prior approval, and you may choose to proceed with only the originally agreed repair.
Existing or hidden faults
Some faults may only become apparent once a device has been disassembled, repaired, powered on, or fully tested. LuminOus Volt is responsible only for the fault originally reported and is not liable for pre-existing or unrelated faults that were present before the repair and are not caused by our work. Where practical, we may correct minor issues directly related to the repair at no additional charge. Any separate or unrelated faults identified during testing will be reported to you with an optional quotation, and no further work is undertaken without your approval.
Warranty cover
Any warranty that applies to your repair, and what it covers, is set out in your quotation or accompanying documentation. Warranties do not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental or liquid damage, or tampering after the repair.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LuminOus Volt is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from the use of our services. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of Zambia.
8. Cancellations
You may cancel a booking before you confirm a plan at no charge. After work has begun, charges may apply for parts ordered or labour already carried out, as communicated to you.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Zambian courts.
